Restoration of rusty Iron of the USSR. Old Soviet Flatiron.
In this video, I am restoring an old rusty flatiron. Made in the USSR. I bought it at a flea market for $ 3. The condition was not bad in terms of rust. To remove the rust, I used citric acid, and to speed up the dissolving process, I heated the acid. Unfortunately, there was a lot of rust, I had to repeat boiling several times and clean it with a metal brush. after cleaning, I made a handle and a latch to close the iron lid.

This is what I call RES-TO-RATION. Taking an old an rusty object and bring it back to WHAT IT WAS, not a byproduct of zillion dollars machining and polishing with sanding jets and remove rust using 2 ziillions dollars chemical as well as polishing to mirror finishing surfaces and bolts that has NEVER been so polished originally. TKS for this WONDERFUL JOB.
