#11 I have a cat, he does weird things like that all of the time. Cats can see UV rays that the human eye can't pick up so maybe the cat just saw some. The orb was probably just an out-of-focus bug.

To help disclaim the fearmongering (intentional or not) with the spider clip, it is a Bold Jumping Spider (Phiddipus audax) and nothing about its behavior was about aggression or defense. The jumper was orienting its position and calibrating where and how to best position itself to help make a secure landing (all jumping spiders have highly developed eye sight), and decided that the camera was the place it wanted to jump to. It was a spider merely just deciding to move to a better spot for no real reason other than it just wanted to. I respect Chills, but that was just blatantly wrong on basically all levels minus possibly feeling cornered, but not because it felt unsafe, but because it just wanted to get to a better spot.
