'We have to do better for future generations' - Swimmer Adam Peaty hits out after Chinese victory

Adam Peaty has criticised Olympic authorities after China won gold in the 4x100m medley relay race.

Two of the four gold medallists, Qin Haiyang and Sun Jiajun, were among the 23 Chinese swimmers who reportedly returned positive doping tests prior to the Tokyo Olympics.

China Anti-Doping Agency said they were not stopped from competing as they had unintentionally ingested a banned substance.

Peaty said the decision to allow them to compete was "a joke".

I agree on stricter drug testing. The American, British and Australian teams should be tested as much as the Chinese team.

Then again, Qin has had 21 drug tests before the final race. Some tests were as early as 6 am, and some tests were as late as 2 am. Anyone could have ruined the life routine, training, hope and winning chance for this competition. Then again, Adam still loses under this advantage. What can we say?😅

USA gymnast Simone Biles won a total of 11 Olympic medals - 7 are gold, but nobody said a think about her use of drugs way back in 2016 in Rio, Brazil Olympics Right now in Paris she won 3 gold & 1 silver. The drug she used methylphenidate is BAN in the Olympics. And she has competed in Rio, Tokyo and now Paris in 3 Olympics !

All of the stimulant medications that are used as the first-line treatment for ADHD are included on the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Prohibited List. And methylphenidate is in the prohibited list.

As a Brit this is an embarrassing take. If peaty cares so much why doesn’t he get himself tested as much as the Chinese. It really reflects poor character to say such a thing.
