You talked about charging a phone directly off dynamo hub, I couldn’t do that with my dynamo hub as the phone/ gps would constantly disconnect if I was going below 20km/hr or any other device directly connected to hub via USB port. What I had to do was charge my power bank off hub and thence power devices from power bank. The power bank was not always charging below 20km/hr but it didn’t shut down like other electronics.

Apple story: My mother was moving to assisted living and I was in a rush with the movers so I accidentally left my iPhone 7 in a gorilla case on top of my car. It rode there for about 5 miles until up flew over a gentle rise. It flew off, was missed by the truck behind me and run over by the next one. The case shattered and everything flew in different directions. I found my phone, out of the case, pasted the shoulder in the grass. It was curved, the shape of the tire. And it STILL WORKED! The Apple store folks were blown away.

And thank you for reminding me that I have an iPOD! :)

Great info for a newb just setting up! I'm quite surprised to see the proper full sized cameras. Especially Miles with that giant Canon and heavy glass. It's actually making me re-think, and include my EM1MKII, 12-40, and even maybe my 60mm macro.... The question is where on the bike would safest to carry it?

Momma Miles' "smiles for Miles" shammy cream was fantastic! had it on the Alberta Rockies 700 in 2016 and thereafter until I ran out....

love this series, so helpful to see the variety of solutions and hear the explanations behind them... Itd be cool to do again a year later with another panel so we can see more setups

I keep all my road cycling stuff on hangers in the closet. I have to hang the gloves too since I live in humid Georgia. If I were to do bikepacking trips, I would miss the hangers and the closet.

Okay can you do a segment on chamois free riding? Show us the products, pros, cons and how to make the transition. I’ve been on the Cham for 30+ years.

serious photography!! very impressive. Great series. I'm setting up for my first bikepack trip and figuring out how to pack is way harder than I thought. but no way would I have room for a giant camera.

I was wondering if it was an age thing. I started mountain biking back in the early 80's. And I used "fanny packs" because I couldn't carry enough stuff on the bike. Needed more water. Then the camelback came along and it made sense.

Jess said she had a mount for that Lezyne pump. It looked like a MICRO FLOOR DRIVE XL. Jess, are you using straps or is there an actual mount made for that? It takes up unnecessary space in my frame bag and definitely awesome for fixing flats on a fat bike.

again, best mtb/hike bike shoe= shimano m7! cant beat their warranty too. no other shoe has ever held up to the abuse alpine mountain biking, ie, walkin on sharp rocks, puts on them.

Forgive me for my ignorance, but what does 'She / Her' stand for? The 4 other participants are simply mentioned with their respective names.

Don't know if it has already been said BUT chamois butter and glide use different chemicals for men and women because women are more sensitive down there...
