Eren Eyes are green but they change colour on different Light, thats very common
In Season 1-2-3 he had green eyes And Sometimes he had Blue ( when he was looking at the Sky)
And in season 4 he had Green eyes(in the final episode too)
And he had blue eyes in light ( when he talked to Mikasa and Armin and the Lights from the window Were on his eyes


But it can be as well your theory Idk

This story is more the revenge of eren but also a sad story for mikasa and armin because they lost a childhood friend because their life was a lie for all those years and their friend wanted revenge because of that

Even if eren did that for his friends it's still sad how much he couldn't let go from the lies they told him
