You can tell she was heartfelt by what Ryan said and was almost convinced by him.

I love how she knew it was real when Ryan and Seth supported her going to get help. She didn't trust Ryan at first but he found his way into her heart and she knew he loved her after what he said.

”I don’t want to see that happen again to someone I love” might be my favorite line in the entire show.

The boys really gave her the 1-2 punch. You can tell Ryan really got through to her (she didn't respond to him, instead lashing out at the Doctor unlike how she responded to Sandy and Hailey directly), then Seth came through and drove the point home.

When Ryan and Seth had a say in this intervention, it hurt me in the feels 😢😢

Kelly did such a great job in this scene. She went from angry with Ryan full circle to accepting him as her son. For those who forgot she made a promise to take care of him and over time while Kristen still didn't fully accept him as such by this point his words hit so hard it snapped her back to reality. From wanting him to say nothing 'which would be viewed as an attack on her' to remembering who he is to her. He basically said I love you, mom. Seth her biological son broke her soon after and the look on her face both times was on point. I always remember this scene.

She's lucky she has a family that cares about her. Some people don't have that.

I've struggled with alcohol addiction most of my life. I've lost friends, family, jobs becuase of it I'm sober now and it feels so good the first step is to admit you have a problem and you need help. It takes time it's not easy to really admit it but it's really worth getting sober so you can get your life back. I remeber first time seeing this scene I started crying

The actress doing Kirsten always makes me cry in this scene she is so good and underrated.

I have to admit this scene always hits a nerve on me and suddendly tears start coming....
Idk maybe it s just the way she responds back and kinda tries to defend herself from her very own sister AND husband but she kows she has to do jt when ryan and seth tell her. For me, it is the way Ryan got her how she doesn t reply and takes at heart what he says. But mostly the way she doesn t try to respond back and simply turns around and sees seth there...her own son, looking at her, and saying simply "mom, you gave to go.."...and with one look and a simple sentence, she s comvinced....the magic of mother son relatinship...

You can tell Ryan almost had her, but as soon as she turned and saw Seth, you could physically see the realization in her face. All it took was for her to just look at her own son and she knew what she had to do

Ryan and Seth really gave her that back to back punch for the knockout. Ryan broke her exterior and Seth came for the kill. She loves her boys so much and would do anything for them😢

The pilot was great but this was the best episode of the series. One of the best in the history of television.

Ryan and Seth saved Kirsten’s life. Had they not been there for the intervention, who knows where Kirsten would have wound up.

I love how the truly portrait alcoholism and how it can deeply affect all family members

They keep bring back old shows, they need to bring this one back, they just seriously left us all hanging with so much to be done still.

My husband who never cries at TV shows and who has very different taste in TV than me watched a couple episodes with me and said he actually teared up at this part. I couldn’t believe it! But it was very good acting. Also calebs funeral had me crying like a baby too. I feel like the show wasn’t as good after he left.

Its so sad seasons 3 and 4 were trash. This scene along with the Christmakuh episode this season were powerful and showed the range of the actors.

It must of really hurt for Ryan knowing his foster mother had become an alcoholic just like own mother. Kirsten was skeptical of Ryan at first but she grew to love him like one of her own.

And as for Seth? He was a real brat for most of that season, how he reacted when Ryan went back to Chino, and his obsession with getting Summer back. But this was a moment where he stepped up to the plate when his family needed him the most.
