The entire Harry Potter series only happened because Voldemort decided he that he needed magic to kill a baby instead of just shaking it, or swinging it against the wall a few times, or doing literally any of the many methods to kill a baby that don’t require eldritch magic. I’m just saying that Voldemort failed because he used magic to do something that literally anyone could do without fancy death spells.

Nice to see this even as a joke. I like it being taken seriously in the Dresden Files, where a certain other Harry uses fisticuffs and even (old fashioned) guns to deal with magic users who aren't prepared for stuff like that. The really dangerous ones however, ALSO use stuff just like Harry.
