Is AI good for the classroom?

Fawzi BenMessaoud is a faculty member of the Indiana University Luddy School of Informatics, Computing and Engineering. He is teaching AI and informatics courses. BenMessaoud believes AI can be used as a positive tool in the classroom for both teachers and students. He has been working on a robotic teaching assistant he uses in the classroom. This intelligent system can assist both the students and BenMessaoud. The AI informs BenMessaoud of how many students ask the same questions, and can answer student’s questions for BenMessaoud when he is unavailable. He also uses the AI to improve his teaching. The AI can inform BenMessaoud of what exam questions students are struggling with and how BenMessaoud could teach that topic more effectively. (Video by Indiana University)
