I started paramedic school in august. I've been listening to "EMS 20/20" since around march and it helped me substantially to prepare for paramedic school. Podcasts like y'all and "Coffee Break HEMS" or "Heavy Lies the Helmet" are a godsend to people that don't just treat healthcare like it's a 9-5 job. That was such an egregious statistical mistake. I am so confused why that article got published. Did no one with any research experience look over how they arrived at their findings? It's stats 101 to know that you that first you need to compare rates and not just raw numbers, and second is that low sample sizes give poor confidence in results. They didn't even compute any sort of statistical test to compare the differences.
