This workshop will guide you through creating a custom extension from scratch for distributed PostgreSQL deployments with several database nodes. First, you'll learn how to develop a simple yet impactful extension that allows Postgres to communicate with a public cloud environment. Next, you'll learn how to compile and install the extension on a single-server PostgreSQL instance. Lastly, you'll make the extension more scalable by integrating it into YugabyteDB, a distributed version of Postgres.
