Apple iPhone 16 Pro vs 14 Pro: CAMERA COMPARISON!

With the launch of the Apple iPhone 16 series, it will be two years since the iPhone 14 series launched, in particular, the iPhone 14 Pro. Excellent comparison! Very helpful since my wife has a 14 pro and wants to know if an upgrade to the 16P is worth it. Since she hardly ever takes videos, I'm advising her to save her money and stick with the 14 for another year.

I feel the pictures look kinda soft on the 16 pro like they are using a filter. Overall, my eyes likes the 14 pros image quality on photos. I do like the extra zoom and macro photos of the 16 though but not enough to make me give up my mute switch.

You summarised it in the best way. If your focus is towards photo’s stay on the 14pro as I don’t think it warrants enough to upgrade.

If your focus is on videos, then yes it does warrant any upgrade. However that motion blur on the 16 pro while fast passed movement threw me off. Seemed like 14 handled that a bit better. Everything else 16 pro definitely has the edge.

If you want the latest and greatest, then yes the 16 pro is the way to go.

Thank you so much for this comparison! I'm more interested in the video updates. I thought the main lens was the same on both but still there seems to be much better quality on the 16 pro? Especially low light. Just curious because that's what it looks like. I'm mostly shooting ok 24 fps so not really interested in the super slow motion stuff. And what do you think about the ultra wide video on both phones?

I have very strange feeling about Iphone developers...the ultra-wide photos from the new iphone are a little bit blured, meanwhile they continue to make selfie camera more and more detailed...so that all the girls need to use filters before uploading this "amazing" detailed selfie in instagram.

Not going to lie, the detail in the 14 Pro looks better to at least my eyes. The 16 pro can zoom in a little closer while maintaining clarity. He says the 16pro flexes its muscles with the macro lens. While the photo is zoomed in a little more it seems to lose some of the color accentuation, but that can be edited. My favorite app for edition photos is Snapseed. You can pop and accentuate color beautifully without making anything look like filters are added.
One thing I worry and wonder about is how easily the macro lens focuses. My biggest gripe and annoyance with the 14pro is that the camera will not focus sometimes. I have to close out the camera, go back in, start from far away and toy with it for the lens to focus. Sometimes I give up on the picture entirely.

So far, to ME the colors seem to hold up better on the 14 aside from the selfie lens at 12MP. At least in this video.

Video quality at night, and zoom features day and night on the 16pro are clearly better but I wouldn’t upgrade for it. Like he says the difference is evidence but the differences are also not too significant for what most of us use our cameras for. I remind myself that I don’t work for National Geographic, Im not a private a
Investigator and Im not an influencer who relies on my camera quality for income. My cats looked amazing on the 11pro and they look amazing on the 14pro. 😂

I have a question for you please . So let’s say you have a 13 pro and then get 16 pro would that mean the pictures on instagram come out better with the 16 pro? Or would the differences be negligible?( I don’t use zoom )
