Bought one brand new in 2007 when they first came out for grand total of $7, 000 cash. I was looking at the Honda fit and the Yaris at the time but this had much more than the others for $12, 000, namely, all-wheel-drive, disc brakes all around, much bigger battery, bigger, tires, a roof rack best $7, 000 I ever spent still driving it today. No problems so far. I'm from Germany and have had the SUZUKI SX4 2.0 DDiS 4WD Style (built in 2011) for about 2 years. I previously had a Toyota Corolla Diesel for a long time and it took me about a year to get used to the SX4.
Yes, it's loud, yes, it doesn't have a smooth clutch, yes, the interior isn't that comfortable and the front pillar is sometimes very distracting. And yes, it also rattles, which sounds like defective wheel bearings. But what I personally found most annoying was the remote control and all the things you have to pay attention to. The only advantage is that it's impossible to accidentally forget the electronic key in the car.
What do I love and appreciate about the SX4? It is very lively and overtaking is a lot of fun. I always have the feeling that I could always get more power out of the machine (if I wanted to). I don't have the feeling at all that I'm driving a lame car, quite the opposite! the I-AWD is an extreme enrichment and helps in the snow but also on muddy paths and slippery roads if you have decent tires on it. apart from brake pads and an oil change, the oil seals of the rear differential have only been changed once - nothing else! and you won't find any noticeable rust either.
I'm happy with my little runabout :-)

I own 2011 sx4 is already 125000 miles on the clock and it's nothing wrong with it. It's not comfortable or practical like many other cars but is extremely reliable.

I have continued issues with parts support on my Sx4. It isnt a bad car per say, but good luck getting it serviced if you need anything past an oil change.
