The worst and the best tailor shops in Hoi An, Vietnam

In Hoi An, Vietnam I visited two different tailor shops. The first one which is called Blue Chic Tailor, had the most incompetent tailors. I gave them two simple designs, and they messed them up. It was a total rip off. I don’t believe theit good reviews on TripAdvisor‘s are legit. The second tailor shop that you will see in the video has very good tailors. I ordered three pieces that came out really nice but they ask ridiculously unreasonable prices. Be ready to negotiate with them and bring the prices 50% or more down. Otherwise it will be a total rip off. I recommend you say away from these tailor shop, they are kind of a scam in different ways, and you will end up paying a lot more than if you buy a already made dress.

We visited Hoi An in April 2024. Had a look first into the reviews on Youtube. That seems us the best way. Therefor, first we visited the 'little' Peace Tailor, because we read and saw a nice review on Youtube. But the girls there seemed far from interested in Customer ideas regarding a detailed sketch. Nothing seemed possible and ridiculous prices where mentioned. Within 5 minutes we were again on the street and went to Yaly Couture. Nice and friendly lady's overthere and within 30 minutes we both got what we wanted for a reasonable price!

Your mistake is shopping old town! The real tailors are on Tran Hung Đạo.

Hi. I had a good experience with Blue Chic Tailor. I noticed that certain outfits are really not worth spending on, though. For example, a pair of pants cost the same as my wool coat. I think fancier clothes are okay. But that's my opinion. Overall, I think the prices (for suits and coats) are cheaper than in my country. Anyhow, everyone has different experiences. I'm sorry you didn't have a good experience. Regarding reviews, I think the shop asked their customers to leave a review as soon as they collected their clothes. That happened to me. They said I could borrow their WiFi. Haha. I left them a good review because I was satisfied with their service. I'm not sure if most of their reviews are fake. But perhaps the good reviews you saw online came from people who were happy with their clothes. Oh, I'd like to share something. When I was choosing my fabric, there was an unhappy customer. She was very upset with the price of her clothes. She said, "This is too much. I cannot afford this". Not sure what happened there.... But I'm glad I didn't pay the price I didn't agree on when I made my order.

I had linen clothing made and I wouldn’t do it again. I felt the finishing details were poorly made and it was time-consuming to get it right, ..so too expensive in both money and time. It was difficult to get them to alter to my liking. I felt cheated.

Delivery to hotel? I don’t understand. I want to try it on before I take it. I live in Hoi An at the moment. There must be a few hundred tailors and shops selling clothes. I’ve actually only bought from a few and I was quite happy with it. I bought some things in the market and they weren’t good quality. There’s such a variety in the town. Expensive and not expensive and good quality and not so good. I guess you have to be a careful shopper

I didn’t have a great experience with BeBe tailors as they made me feel as if I was a bother to them and messed up a sleeve of my jacket by sewing plackets on the sleeves facing the same way instead of the opposite. The best tailor so far was Beans Tailor as they were well priced, quick and made me what I wanted.
