I'm confused about who the target audience of this video would be
* First min or so, it seems like it's for someone who is a complete beginner to Spring eco system.
- A tutorial on this might help them.
* Then again as it goes further it seems to assume user familiarity with dep-management tools maven/gradle.
- IMO the tutorial would not of much help for the later people as the UI would be self-explanatory.
Now if we are talking about complete beginners, then the tutorial is taking too much things for granted. What is artifact name? group id? other options in maven/gradle.
The speed at which you wrote code and ran the app to shows that you assume familiarity of REST with Spring. If they are the audience it would be trivial for them.
Other small things:
Why use a specific IDE? Unless you mean to say the tutorial is How to *title* using Eclipse?
- It would be better to use a text editor with syntax highlighting + terminal/shell to run the app.
- Using a linux platform would be much more useful for wider audience.
If you are targetting a tutorial series for beginners to spring eco:
- you should may be start with what the goal is at the starting of the video. Which is around 3:50 were you show the endpoint being invoked through the browser.
- then enumerate the steps in the rest of the video.
- this allows more things to be built on the same in following videos.
Misc:
- Avoid showing images of yourself until the channel hits the ground properly. [This includes your gmail login pic at the start]
- first 30 + last 30 secs. doesn't add much value but constitutes to about 20-25% of this video.
Last but bv far the most helpful: A link to your blog which contains these instruction in textual format. [Medium or GIthub pages] + link to the project code [Github the most popular one*]
