Celebrate a life, don’t mourn a death - RIP Super Kev.

Raya was unreal, any doubts on his shot stopping vs Rammsdale are gone for sure. That right hand slap he did whilst off balance was up there with Seamans claw back from the line we've seen a billion times on MOTD

I dont know what this is. But for some reason, when I think of Kevin and how many peoples lives he affected by simply having his big smile and his outlook on life, it almost always brings me to tears. I can't think of another person in media that has had that kind of effect on so many people.
I never knew him personally, obviously, but I just know he'd have absolute time for me and anyone else he could of met.
So glad he was remembered in such a way, and Arsenal paid that tribute.
RIP to an absolute gem of human.

As someone who has been a Keeper from a young age right through to adulthood I think it is a fantastic save. The way Raya reacted, shifted his weight then kept a strong arm to keep it out is magnificent. But it's not up with the best saves I have seen. It's still not at the Seaman FA Cup save level nor a few more of Safe Hands best saves through the years. But it's certainly a save Seaman or any other PL Keeper would be proud of.

Tom, you are totally correct with Kivior, strength in deep to compete on all front s.

Just on timber's injuries, I'm not worried long term about it. ACL injuries tend to be followed by a few short, regular injuries in the first few months back before settling down.

Great show Tom as per usual!

Definitely agree that selling Kiwior would be a big mistake as he plays a role in our defensive jigsaw and we need as many defensive options/flexibility as possible with an extended season due to more ECL games and hopefully a deeper cup run than previous seasons.

Talk from last season about Raya needs to be silenced as that save he made while going in the opposite direction is class and also something as little as having words to Timber about his overplay reminds of top keepers of years gone by.

Fans need to remember that this is the first game of the season and that it's more than likely to result in a patchy performance, but the main thing was to get the 3 points as we have a challenging start to the season that can put us in good stead. I actually think that having these difficult away games early in the season is an advantage come the end of the season when we don't have these games to hit us at the pointy end of the season as the away game against Man City did as an example.

I am not sure if its fitness or concentration, but Partey looked solid in the first half and then fell away in the second half and was borderline costly. I think we need to keep him, but he can be a rotational option for Merino (if he comes as I not counting it as done until it's confirmed) and an advantage that no other EPL team has.

Was at the Seaman save game. Certainly best I've seen. Agree it is personal and you only really get a proper feel for it live.

Hi Tom and fellow Gunners‼

A perfect way to start "the day after" 👌 but, feet on the ground boys and girls...3 points in the bag, 111 to go...that's the target...COYG 💪‼

I am in 100% agreement with you in regards to Timber. I think he is absolutely incredible. He's probably my third fav player on the squad (his personality and leadership are incredible). He will have some slight knocks and pain that may cause him to miss games in the first half of the season. If we can manage his health well, he will be immense in the second half of the season. I think he ends up being the starting LB by the end of the season.

Not a bad start to the season, but we need to really improve on that next week away to Villa. If we give the ball away like that against Villa we will be punished big time. We have Villa, Brighton, Spuds then Man City, so by the time we get to Spuds we need to be back to how we were playing in the first few months of 2024, which is a big step up over the next four weeks by the looks of it.

In the Leverkusen game, the left hand side was buzzing.
With Zinny as LB, Kai as L8, and Trossard as LF.
And Jesus as striker.

But because 3 of them can play false 9, then they kept rotating.

Thought exactly the same in regard to the sloppiness - any other team and we would have conceded. It does worry me about our next games but hopefully it is down to it being the first game. We do need Merino in, ASAP though!

Saka penalty shout was not a dive. It was a delayed reaction sure but there was contact and he tried to stay on his feet to get the ball and couldn't so then went down.

If we get Merino, in addition to Calafiori and our returning left back, Timber, this will be one sterling season!!! Exciting stuff!!!
