So the dog basically only stays in the yard because he wants to. And he can come and go whenever he feels like it. Dogs are just so amazing! The sheer athleticism here...😮😅

I had a dog who would do this to go play with the kids around the corner when they got home from school. I'd have never known it if I hadn't stayed home sick from work one day.

While working at this particular house doing maintenance, their two dogs kept getting out of the yard. I made sure the gates were closed and their enclosure was secured at all times. After the third escape I figured why. Boof head, the biggest dog, about 100kg and his offsider about 99 kg were just head-butting the fence panels until there was a decent sized gap, then they walked away easily. But cunningly doing their deeds while I was at a different part of the job so as to be quite and unobserved. They didn't go far, just off to visit the neighbour's yard where the children were seen to play.

Had a 30ish pound water dog, he could jump high enough that he could get his front paws on top of the 16ft block backwall. With minimal scrambling he could climb the rest of the way and escape. Fences only stop a dog psychologically or emotionally most of the time, unless he has been trained to not to defeat them.

My old dog would do this when outside so he'd run around to the front door to be let in.

My boxer would do this 😂 it was impossible to keep her in the yard. I had a German shepherd/ Australian shepherd mix who would literally back up, run at the wall, scale the wall and over the fence.... he also jumped from a 2 story window. Jessie James ❤ The craziest one we had was a Belgian. He was K9 trained and would climb our 10 ft chain link fence and go sit on our front porch 😂 I think when he stopped working, he was bored so he practiced. We tried to keep up with commands and keep him busy but being a house dog is way different from what he was used to. Dogs are the best ❤
