When hosting a secure Zoom meeting, it's important to know how to calibrate the settings to prevent hacks or "Zoom Bombing." It's very preventable when you know how to setup your meeting properly.

With more people than ever before working at home, many businesses and schools are using Zoom for video conferencing. But many are not setting up their meetings with the correct settings to maximize security so there have been recent reports of unauthorized people jumping into Zoom meetings.

If you follow my recommendations in this video, you'll prevent that from happening. There are many settings that are not "on" by default that you have to optimize in order to have a secure meeting. This is especially important for confidential business meetings, government meetings and of course children using Zoom for school.

I've been working at home, using Zoom for years. I love what can be accomplished with video conferencing software but it's important that you know how to use it properly so you can stay safe!

UPDATE: Zoom recently rolled out a security update where they made some of the security settings ON by default now. So be sure to download the latest version of Zoom and you'll see a security icon on the bottom where you can lock the meeting and turn on waiting room. And having a password for the meeting is now the default. But still be sure to double check all your settings as described in this video because there are still settings that are not the default that you'll want to turn on depending on your situation.

I did a screen share in a zoom meeting and had someone scribble on my screen. I did have a zoom crasher come in, but is there a way to prevent my allowed participants to do this in the future?

Excellent. Very helpful. What if the meeting is open to th public, like a church worship service. It would be hard to screen every participant. Thanks.
