My dad had the Z3 coupe 3.0i. I used to take it for a spin illegally when I was not yet old enough to drive 🫣 Had a lot of fun around Schiphol at the time.

This perfectly sums up old cars being way more fun to drive! You don't need silly amounts of power to have fun, all about the feel of the car and the involvement. Something that has all but disappeared in modern cars sadly. Oh then there's the designs, I mean, this is a cool design, looks better now than it did when it came out! Those old BMW 6 cylinder engines are fantastic aswell. Love seeing this older stuff getting the attention they deserve. Huge fan of 90's cars, peak moto car in my opinion.

Last year I bought this Z3 coupe 3.0i of 2000. Silbergrau (Grey silver) with red leather seats. It’s such a sexy car. This car makes you feel very special when you drive it. So proud to own a Z3 coupe, this car has it all. Though I like to see the “pimped” and often well looked after Z3’s, my car is and will stay original as long as I own it.

Fell in love with this engine. Have 2 E36s with the M52B28 (one with under 100k miles and the other almost 255k) and had a Z3 with the M52TUB28. All an absolute delight to drive.

It is such an honest car, fun to drive, easy to live with and special to look at. The short gearing makes it feel faster than it actually is.The engine is so smooth and it is just bullet proof. I have mine since 2005. Not even one problem.

I bought a first series 2.8 roadster in Holland at Christmas and took it to Sardinia. I traveled 3000 kilometers in 4 days great engine.

Can't get enough of hearing how much you love this car... I have an e36 M3 and a e39 M5. I had the 2001 Z3 M roadster but I love my e36!!!

I heard somewhere that European Manufacturers in the 1990s had a gentlemans agreement that engines that was less than 3.0litres would produce less than 200hp... which is why the 28i had 192hp, Audi had a 2.8 with 174hp Mercedes 280 190hp and Peugeot/Citroën/Renault 3.0 194hp Volvo etc but they were all updated in the 2000s

I have a silver 1999 2.8 with an original M Package body kit from factory and red leather interior. I looks almost identical to the M-Car. I think this is very rare version.

These were rated 193bhp one more than the 2.5, but seen many dyno's of standard ones and they rate between 208-218bhp

awesome ''regular' classic BMW! I''d like to see this on dyno, I think it has quite a lot more than 193 ps! Also just the perfect amount of sound to enjoy, I think all these E46's are already too quiet using ridiculously loud intakes etc!
