Ok, hear me out. I'm 41yo, reasonably healthy male. I've just started supplementing taurine and noticed some magical things started happening! Energy levels are up, very noticeably - I used to love working out but over the last few years I've somewhat deflated, lost my edge and will to work out - straight after supplementing taurine I started to feel the urge, the tingle to hit the gym and my muscles hard again! The quality of sleep dramatically improved, especially the falling asleep aspect, which in turn seems to have started to normalise my circadian rhythm. Borderline insomnia has been my struggle as long as I can remember. I've always dreamt of becoming an early bird - maybe now I have a chance to achieve it. But wait, there's more! Most importantly of all I noticed a dramatic improvement in my RSI (forearms) and radial nerve damage in my right arm. The pain has gone from severe to barely noticeable just after a couple of days of supplementing taurine. Before, I've tried everything, all supplements (apart from the taurine) and exercises, including the "nerve flossing" exercises, with very little impact. Looking forward to seeing what comes next. I do have chron’s desease… 3 months ago my exams indicated some worsening …. Then I decided start to take taurine … 2 months latter I did a colonoscopy exam…. The very best results of my life…. (Note: I didn’t stop my doctor prescribed medicine… just added taurine)

I’m 48 and was suffering from IBS for 1.5 years. After 1 week on 4grams of Taurine per day my bowl movements have dramatically improved. Seems like my gut microbiome is doing a better job overall.

Taurine taken at night makes me dream more throughout the whole night. After taking taurine for a for 10 months at a 1 to 2 gm daily dose, i really do not feel much different other than more calm. Otherwise, i feel alert and normal. If i know i will have a stressful day or some situation i do not handle well, i take glycine to really chill me out. Combining berberine and taurine decreases my appetite a lot.

I got depressed using Taurine or GlyNac in the past until I found out combining half a gram of Taurine with the same amount of Creatine offsets the GABA effect for me! This could help other people as well I hope.

Taurine was prescribed to me as part of my anti aging regimen, which also includes HRT. Taurine also helps keep your bile thinner, and has resulted in a very clean galbladder, whereas before taurine I had gallbladder sludge and pains after eating fats. been taking taurine 14 years. btw it also helps prevent caffeine jitters, so I put it in my morning coffee, 3 grams a day.

I am 75 years old weight train twice a weeks and have done for 50+ years I take 3/5Grams every morning with water on an empty stomach, it does however affect bowel movement, I find I have to add inulin to my morning coffee 3 times a week to aid in this respect, apart from that work-outs are good and strength is there.

I have a very large garden, some long term jobs I had put off for several years. Since supplementing Taurine, I feel a pleasant urge to go for it, every day when I am free. Maybe thats just a secondary effect since my sleep has improved as well. Slightly elevated bloodpressure hasn't improved however...

I am 77 and have been taking 12 mg of Taurine in my morning shake for the last nine months. My HDL is 46, and my triglycerides are 33. I have a lot of energy and ambition. I don't take any pharmaceuticals, and my blood pressure is 124 over 72. Another ingredient I think is helping me is soluble and insoluble fiber. I follow Dr. Robert Lustig's fiber knowledge on metabolic health.

I am the person who he read out. I went to Bali 2 months ago and foolishly didn't take Taurine with me as I thought I could buy it there. Within a few days my sleep was disrupted by mild panic and racing thoughts (like in the past). That continued into a very foggy mind, physical weakness and bloating, all the old symptoms. Quite embarrassing as I was making silly decisions which I'm sure the Balinese put down to me being old! This lasted the whole month until I got home and went back to daily Taurine supplementation. It took a few days to kick in but I was quickly back to normal. It's going to be Taurine for the rest of my life after this experience.

yes it does cause gut irritation in the first days, but the gut flora adapts to it after a few days or weeks.

Think i have been supplementing Taurine for about a year. Male in my 40s. I take 1Gr a day. I actually can't consciously say it does anything for me. Still overall often tired, lack of energy and trouble getting out of bed in the morning. Sleep is fine. I do take a lot of other supplements in my regime. Like magnesium, ubiquinol, multivitamin (ABCDK + minerals) amongst others. Intermittent fast 16~18/8~6. And i keep an eye on my food intake. Guess that is most of the time fairly healthy. Even though my energy level i do workout a lot. 3~6 times a week. But that is more of me being able to mentally push myself on doing that, than that i am bursting with energy. Bloodwork that i do every year didn't indicate any shortages or excess indications.

Anyway i might try increasing Taurine dosage from 1G to 2 and even 3Gr daily. And then see if that has any meaningful impact!

I am 68 my good man, under your data, have been taking Taurine. Probably too much as I think it gives me the scooters. But my goals are to build muscle, keep lifting heavier weights. And lose about 40 more lbs
