Beginner Strength Workout // All Standing Osteoporosis Friendly Strength Building Exercises

Back to Basics! If you are new to strength training, or it's been a long time since you worked out, this is the video for you! I will demonstrate how to do basic strength training exercises in a slow, safe and controlled manner. All exercises are performed in a standing position and are osteoporosis friendly (no rounding or twisting of the spine).
I'm using a set of 3lb dumbbells in this workout. Not using weights at all is fine too while you are learning proper techniques. If you don't have weights, you could use water bottle or tin cans of soup/veggies, when you are ready to add some resistance.
If you NOT new to training with weights, then this video is a good opportunity to use heavier weights and work on your form!
This full body workout also includes a warm up and stretching cool down, so the strength training section is just under 30 minutes. You can do this!
Thank you for working out with me. Please leave me a comment and share with someone you know who could benefit from this workout!

Hi Lauren. I am a 55 year old homemaker from Kolkata. I discovered your channel around 6 months back. Now you have become my routine workout teacher. I love your routines. You are an excellent choreographer if I may use the word. Thank you so much. You have a very peaceful aura about you which is very calming. Please continue the good work.

I’m 62. I’m nine weeks out of a total hip replacement (lateral, muscles cut). I’ve done my PT exercises and I was ready to move on. I used 5 and 8 pound weights. I modified some because of my hip. Didn’t squat as deep, no curtsy and a few other things. This was a great workout. I feel so good. I can’t believe how far I’ve come. Thank you so much.

Lauren, My husband and I would like to thank you for your wonderful videos . We found you about 6 months ago and are amazed at how much better we feel since starting your exercises. We are both 78 and were experiencing back pain and stiffness until exercising with you! Not that we can do everything perfectly but at least we try. Your beautiful sweet personality is so evident in all that you do. Thank you for making a difference in our lives.

Love, love your workouts. I’m 63 now and can’t keep up up with the fast and intense workouts I used to do 25 years ago. This is the best workout for seniors like me. Slow but very effective. I can feel the big difference in my body. I’m more flexible and getting toned again. Thank you for a well thought work that really works 😊

Hi Lauren. You are the best! I did the entire workout with 2 5lb weights. My oldest daughter is getting married next June, and I want nice, toned arms! They're pretty thin, and I've always had trouble building muscles even when I was much younger and using 40lb weights. In any event, I now have even more motivation to be stronger! Thank you ever so much. You are a life saver! ❤❤🥰

Hi Lauren, I have done many, many of your workouts and am thoroughly enjoying them. I do not do reviews for all of them since there are WAY too many that I have enjoyed doing. They are all amazing and I thank you for being our health coach and keeping us active and healthy. So for ALL your workouts I have done, THANK YOU. Moe

Another great workout, Lauren. It was nice to see that after a year or so of working out with you, I could use 5 lb weights and for the deadlift and squat portions, 8 lb weights were just right. For me, this is ginormous progress! I so appreciate your guidance and careful attention to our posture and form so that these gains are so doable! Thank you so much!

This was the best! Slow, easy to follow instructions. Typically the pace is a bit too fast for this arthritic 78 year old. Perfect for me. Thanks .
