Why Do We Have to PAY Others Just to LIVE?!?! IT’S INSANITY!

We are out here on this Earth and surrounded with everything we need to live amazing lives. So why have we created, and continue to tolerate, a system that makes us work our whole lives earning money so we can pay for the privilege of living?

This is what has always bothered me. The need to constantly pay bills. We in America and other countries get punished for not paying bills on time. Alot of people that don't pay their bills on time is because they don't have the means to. An unexpected expense arises, yet the companies, corporations, banks punish those people by charging a penalty fee. This is disgusting. The greed is disgusting. They have alot already but want more and more and people are stressing, starving, suffering just to make ends meet.

At 33 I have nothing to show. I used to feel like a failure, but now I don’t care anymore. As long I can eat 3 times a day and have a place to sleep I’m okay.

Money was the worst thing ever invented if you ask me. It tears families apart, strains relationships & lives are lost all because of a piece of paper that you cant take with you when you check out of here.

I've always said this...the state you are born into (naked, homeless) is basically illegal and you have find a way to make money to pay for clothes and housing just to stay out of jail and then you have to keep paying rent just to live....just existing is called loitering, trespassing, or being homeless. Sad.

People mindlessly say "He / she needs to earn their living." So, people are implying that if you don't work, then you don't deserve to live. I've always hated that phrase. I've always thought it was crazy to pay to live and that you must pay to have your own car in order to have a job that pays a living. Everything is so messed up in our society. Profit is the ONLY soul sucking motivation.

Great rant Tim. We’re so brainwashed that even talking about this sounds crazy. What’s the point of innovation if life is only about survival? Why do we spend our physical prime working such “essential” jobs? Why are we having new generations of kids? Why do we acknowledge our common problems and unhappiness, yet resist trying to change things? Could go on forever…

You are so absolutely right. I decided to live in my car: a 2021 Ford EcoSport, which is a compact SUV. It's very uncomfortable but I'm doing it. 65 and a half, newly retired. Haven't even gotten my first SS check yet. Living on my final payout which was 133 hours of AL. Almost out of money. Could never save any money. But I just couldn't do the workforce anymore.

It's amazing to me that everyone bought into this system. We humans, created time and money, and then spend our entire lives in a panic because we don't have enough of either. That's why I enjoy hiking and watching nature just do what it was created to do. Our ancestors truly messed this whole thing up.

I’m 52 now and have been grinding away full time for many years. I was lucky to buy a house 10 years ago. Now, Rents are way up, and the Costs of Houses! How can the average working class family even buy a house these days?? Crazy times were In! Lots of Greed going on.

I think everyone who hasn't been born into wealth has felt this way. I'm 71 and don't have any answers either. We simply endure, hopefully find a friend or two, someone to love, try find some peace in the madness of this crazy society.

Nothing will be done about it unless a large enough chunk of us just stop participating in it....unfortunately that is hard to do when you aren't self reliant.
