If box is mint, it doesn't matter if it is in or out the box.

Damaged boxes or you don't have a box. Yes it loses value. Also putting them a protective cover is good as well

As long as everything stays in good shape. All that matters is if it's loose, has the box, box condition. Now if they were taped shut then yes opening them will afftect value

No. As long as the box isn’t RIPPED open it’s fine, most pops sold expensive have been opened. The dent that may happen MIGHT effect the value if it does it’s by like a dollar but that only depends on who is buying it

I understand that but for me I can't bring myself to start unboxing them I'm too worried I'll damage it or the Funko itself

Yeah if you damage or lose the box it's gonna go down in value but some pops can still have a good out of box value like an original simpsons pop

Fr like the pops are meant to be looked at cause they have details that you couldn’t see from in the box. For example on the Whitebeard pop he has his Jolly Roger on his coat like he would in the anime

I wouldn’t buy a pop with a box that shows it was clearly opened or damaged.

I also keep mine out of the box, there are many small details Funko had the trouble to give to these pops and I think its a waste to not take them out and being unable to see them (ginny weasley with diary for example, you cant see that the diary does have Tom Marvolo Riddle written on the cover if the pop is inside of the box)

I personally keep mine out of box. I have the boxes all stacked nicely in the closet.

Well said, and how would you know if the Pop itself didn't have any flaws, paint defects etc, do people only care about the box. Which at the end of the day protects the Pop, that's what we're collecting right? Not boxes lol

I think flocked pops out of box lose value unless lint adds value lol 😂

I had taken some of mine out of box but then when I got more from the same drop set I had to put them back in because the display would’ve looked odd the way I had it set up so I put them back in.

It's when you open it and damage the box in the process that hurts the value.

They aren't even sold with tape over the flaps too, so none of them are really fully sealed

I take all of my pops out of the box when i first get them, i refold all the creases and make sure they're sharp, then i put the pop back in and i use acid free clear tape to seal the top and botten, then it goes into a protector.

Yes it does lose value can cause creases bends. Especially if you want to send it in to get graded
