An easier approach is to reach under the seat with a vacuum cleaner nozzle and just suck all the debris off the filter.

On my 2017 I could just reach under the back seat and the filter was removable with no tools. Rinsed it off in the sink and it's as good as new

I’m at a loss. Just removed this duct assembly for inspection on my 2012 V. I have the old version. My piece looks exactly the same as the old one you show, only there isn’t even a dust screen on it! Just the plastic grid that I can almost stick my pinky finger through the squares!

But what’s really got me at a loss is that despite this, the piece is mostly really clean and looks new, the duct has some dust inside but not as much as you would think, and inside the fan is also clean!

I’m going to just order the updated part. But what am I missing? Am I just lucky because nobody else ever rides in my car, my car is normally empty, and I keep it clean? How do I have the old part but just no screen?

How do you lift up the piece holding down the carpet? Needs a pry bar? I can't get the carpet up

Why a new filter? Why not just wash off the old plastic filter and re-install?

Why is the battery filter changed, is it routine maintenance or once a problem starts.
