Y'all ppl gotta stop worrying about bct, really, I was like that too, when u get there u are literally going to be told how to do ANYTHING...you just gotta listen, also the only way to fail bct is quitting, I was 235lb when I went to bct, came out at 180lbs, sooo yall just gotta always try, it is worth it when that family day comes

My goal in basic training is to get a 300. I want to get at least 80 push ups and 80 sit ups. I want to be able to get under 13 minutes and I am not the best runner. I am pushing myself right now and will get there. I want to be the best soldier I can be. I will push myself to my limit

You didn't have to explain the math to me. I'm not a Marine.

I honestly wouldn't worry too much about BCT. A lot of it is overhyped, and really isn't that bad once you get your boots wet, so to speak.

The biggest obstacle in the military is your own mindset. You must have a "Can Do" attitude. Without it, doubt creeps in, and when you start doubting yourself or the mission, that's when failures occur

I got some of the other girls in my recruiting center to do mock pt tests once a week. It’s good competition and also nice to have other people push you to reach your goals. All three of us have improved so much since doing it.

Hey Matt I just gotta say I love that you took it upon yourself to make these videos, they have been immensely helpful to me. I ship out for infantry OSUT tomorrow and I've been watching your videos nonstop for a month since I signed my contract

One thing you should know is why you signed up, the second (if in infantry) are you prepared to kill for your country. Third is are you ABSOLUTELY sure the army (or military in general) is the right decision for you.

As a former student at Texas A&M where I was a member of the Corps of Cadets, their uniforms are still the same, today, as they were in those wars, I like the army green uniforms that were actually developed during World War I and refined during World War 2 and the Korean conflicts. The blue uniforms are great as ceremonial events.

Shipping in the morning to Fort Sill for Basic, my mile time is 20:00 minutes, I can only do 35 push-ups and 60 sit ups. I am 19 years old and 160 pounds. I have worked a sit down job for 60 hours a week so I didn’t have a lot of time to train before I left. I hope I make it!

Hi Matt, I know I mentioned this before, but I'll say it again. You recommended putting together an 'I love me' book. I've been in for quite some time, but since listening to that specific video, I'm going to really take your advice and add more important documents to my binder. I agree, it's very important. As you also mentioned, it's good for CYA...Thank you.
