Mova Globe cut open reveals powerful magnet. Why? Its ingenious purpose.

Instead of the motor spinning its axle, a strong magnet attached to the axle keeps it oriented north - south and stationary, while the motor (with globe attached) rotates around the fixed axle.

You got to be real committed to science to tear open one of these expensive things
I admire your sacrifice

Peolle who came here because jakeytech did not break open the mova globe

Ok! So the magnet functions like a compass needle. Excellent. First I figured there were 3-4-5 coils in there, that were simply energized one after another - creating a compass needle that moved the globe. But this is probably cheaper to manufacture. Thanks for cutting it open!

Better watch this video ranther than clickbait viral video on Tiktok/Youtube and wait for 10 days break what inside

I appreciate your scientific globe holder and your scientific pointing stick

Two questions. First, was the inner globe filled wit air or oil? Second question. Why do you think there is a tube surrounding the magnet, at the top of the inner globe? In a failed unit, had oil been found inside the inner globe? The inner shell is much thinker than the outer shell. Just an observation… great video!

That’s awesome. Idk who the hell wouldn’t believe that’s a magnet, but great video.
I guess there’s no chance of saving a few hundred dollars and making one of these myself. I don’t get why they’re so insanely expensive. $500 for the 8” ones?!

I’m wondering if the designer has attempted to use an induction loop instead of the solar panels to drive the globe which could also light it at night via LED’s?
I’m betting that it won’t work because of the affect it would have over the fixed pole magnet?

I figured it was much simpler that that. Ever to that science experiment where you sit in an office chair and spin bicycle tire? if you keep it vertical you don't move. If you turn it left or right (from the top, 11 oclock or 1 oclock ) you will spin left or right in the chair.
I figured that it was solar powered with a motor and a flywheel at a slight angle to make it spin.
When these first came out there was almost no visible seam, but MAJOR warnings all over them. Keep out of the sun, keep from flame, keep from heat source. If liquid leaks it could ignite on its
A year later NO warnings at all with these....

So what does the magnet do? Why does that piece have to be magnetic for the glob to spin?

I wondered if it spins the other way if it was in the southern hemisphere, but I guess it doesn't because its motorized and nothing to do with gravity.

Hey Orville, love this stuff. Just bought one! Just wondering why the upper shaft magnet in your video rotates freely (as you point and touch it) and isn’t orienting with the earth’s poles?? Strange. Did you film this video on another planet? 😃. Thanks.

I assume there's liquid between the outer shell and the globe itself however is there liquid inside the globe. Also those 3 rectangle panels are they solar panels and
Power electromagnets ?

I still don’t get it 😢 it spins with little solar panels - ok. But the magnet? What is it doing. Would a weight at that bottom not just keep it upright. Why is a magnet needed.

But why the strong magnet here does not align itself with north-south Earth magnetic poles??
I think that you have broken something in the globe.

L'objet est grave stylé mais le prix il ont clairement gonflé, cette objet devrais couter moins de 50 euro .

Wait so does the magnet anchor the center metal post to a direction stabilized by earth's poles? Or like what does it hold on to in order to anchor? How does it keep it's direction regardless the motor moving or outside forces?

Do you think these things are really worth the price?
