PSA: The Yak can actually turn insanely well through use of VTOL. Go into MEC and set the #2 and #3 engines to max power and vectoring, and they will activate whenever you drop below 500kph, allowing you to make use of thrust vectoring without any loss of forwards thrust.

This plane is perfectly okay in my book, it has 2x R-60 (one of the best missiles at any tier let alone 9.3), 2x S-24 and a decent gun to boot. It's also faster than other planes at its BR and all you have to do is not put yourself in a position where you absolutely need to turn. In the hands of a decent player who knows the advantages and disadvantages of this aircraft it is entirely capable, granted I wouldn't reccommend this as a first jet for newer players starting out and it might not be the most competetive in an uptier, however it certainly does not justify the (somewhat overdramatic) 'DO NOT BUY' title in my opinion.

But hey, if enough people keep complaining it will keep its very generous 9.3 BR

I bought the yak 38 and I love it! its helping me grind the bis much faster and it is just a good plane in my opinion. you just need some skill and awareness so its not noob friendly. its like a classic boom and zoomer, climb high, dunk on people with R60s, climb, repeat with guns once missiles are gone

its fast, good eccel, the GSh cannon (which is good if you can land hits), the R60s, the insane AGMs, the flaps are strong and can be opened at -400mph, and you can do some tricks in combat with the VTOL.

also I dodge even AIM-9Js from A7-Ds all the time so idk why spit struggles. I think he just doesnt know how to play it right now :/

I bought this plane and it’s great plus the vtol isn’t useless it can really make a big difference when in a fight, you can turn super fast and then shoot of an r60 up their ass

actually i found it very fun to play... just stay low and fast and carry s24 rockets with 1000m fuze for headons...that's how i made my way the mig 21 bis with it

i quite like this plane. its not super good but when you can handle this plane its great cause you can outrun some missiles and dodge Aim-9Es(quite hard but possible) and have R60s. the mobility of this plane is super crap but since its a boomnzoom its ok.

the Yak-38 fits a very specific niche. you can outrun almost anything at your BR but you cannot outturn them. the acceleration is good in a straight line, but as soon as you start maneuvering it begins to bleed speed like crazy. most people will not like it but personally i really like this jet

Ngl playing this was a pain. But once you get its quirks, it's playable. I'm bringing R-60s and the S-24B (detonation distance set to 1000m) and when a Harrier or the A-7D didn't got me early on, i will always end up with kills. Those S-24s are pretty hilarious on headons since they will end up either messing the control surfaces of the enemy plane or just straight up deleting them.

I’m beginning to dislike Sako’ reviews because they Mig21PFM is fine but needs a downtier yak38 has perfect Br and weapons

Slight correction, it DOES have a ballisitc computer for bombs. It only works at low altitudes and going under 700 KPH.
