Infrared Spectroscopy Part 1: Basics

This video covers the basic details regarding Infrared Spectroscopy which includes divisions of IR regions, important regions of Mid-IR, Molecular Vibrations, types of IR bands, Hook's Law, Beer's Law, IR spectrum etc.

There are 5 vibrational frequency levels. In Fundamental bands, the molecule will get excited from ground (v=0) to the lowest excited energy level (v=1) whereas in overtones the molecules will get excited from the ground state to higher energy level states (v=2). The diagrammatic representation is just to connect this concept with HOMO and LUMO for the better understanding. The different vibrational frequency levels will be explained in the upcoming videos.
