Gonna write a really long rant discussing my secondary main. Monarchs have a bad rap because Konami gave them said bad rap. Instead of allowing speed as which was given via ether they first received LOCKDOWN! Lock down and negates are two different things and a pro will be quick to point this out as their Metalfoe Yang zing deck loses. LOCKDOWN is the most powerful form of control in the game since the word cannot is used rather than Negate. You can't chain to "cannot" which will most likely be a passive effect. When I saw Monarchs going towards the stun path I said to myself "fine I'll go along with it just stun and go for game on turn 2-4" It was after the structure deck came out that people jumped on the Monarch train (I skipped the time Vanitys and majesty's fiend came out because they were just glorified monarch spell and traps on legs.) I was actually happy about this and decided to stop building up other decks and using my main deck in tourneys to buy the structure deck and see how good they had gotten. I was pissed.
Let me tell you this Cards that LOCKDOWN (Most of the time continuous cards and monster effects that linger) have the highest chance at getting banned because these cards create oppressive states that players act as though they can't get around it. Monarchs have a total of 2 lockdown cards. Monarchs erupt and Domain. One says only tribute summoned monsters get to have effects on field the other says you can't go into the extra deck. I never approved of the concept of not letting my opponent play yugioh but I took what I could get to make my Monarchs good.
Now let's go back to why I was pissed at the structure deck; Pantheisms dumb as f**k card design and Domains Lazy card design. Pantheism could have simply said "Pitch a Monarch spell or trap draw two" but it went beyond that and power creeped trade in AND tenacity since it searched out a card after drawing two and wasn't once per turn when it came to its draw effect. And Domain....sigh Domain. When I saw that the field spell was another stun card I was upset. I wanted so badly for the rest of the card's effect to be a continuous effect that gave my tribute summoned monsters a presence other than "HAHA I control a tribute summoned monster and you don't so f**k you" I hated the simple minded plays the deck had. I hated how now I had jack a**es attempting to back seat duel and tell me how MY f**king secondary main should be played. Now in all honesty I wouldn't give this rant if it weren't for a good reason. The reason is simple please stop hating Monarch players and remember it's Konamis fault. The stormforth Ether combo wasn't busted since stopping the spell was more than enough; it's not like a kaiju that says "Hi I'm a unwanted Gamaciel I'm gonna just move this precious boss monster out of the way for you how ya doing?" Ether gave the deck the ability to generate presence. If you say this deck is super cancer please don't tell me you play any of the following decks;
Palaeozoic
Hero toad (Hero players I actually respect but the toad part nah)
Metalfoe yang zing
ABC (You mother f**kers have a field spell that's just as bad)
Counter fairies
Mermails that have a Toad (seriously Toad belongs to one archetype if you bring it out in a different deck and try to trash talk me after you clearly are attempting to stop me from playing the game then sit on a pinecone).
anyways that's the end of the rant. I made this because it's annoying when people disconnect the moment they see I play Monarchs but not before making a hurtful comment or when I go to a local or regional tourney to try out a new ratio with the deck to see if it works out and everytime I hear "Ugh Monarchs".

Barrier Stun is such an amazingly fun deck to play with a ton of consistency. Triple Card of Demise, triple Pot of Duality/Desires if you really wanted to and the fact that you can make you trap line up literally anything you want. As long as you have Statue/Moon Mirror Shield you're good. I like to troll and play one or two White Veils on DevPro combined with Moon Mirror. Barrier Statue is such a fun deck, it really reminds me of the old days. Light Barrier Statue Ties of the Brethren is also another version to play where you run Light Barrier Statue, Honest, Bountiful Artemis, and Arianna Grande. They are all light fairies lv 4. And the trap line up is 90% counter traps.

I play Cyber Dragons. Going first isn't that bad. Set up Inifnity to bait out removal then when you get the chance, you summon Chimeratech Rampage Dragon to pop backrow and swing for a maximum of 12, 600.

Also Windwitch or Brethren Majespecters can be a force to be reckoned with. I will be playing them as well.

:) I used to tech the barrier statues in my decks during the synchro format way back when and it's nice seeing them get the love they deserve for a change.

For those looking for a good budget deck you can run Raidraptors. You can summon cyber dragon and Hope Harbringer with soul shave force for those that didn't know. Besides summon Ultimate Falcon and most decks can't go over it without Utopia lightning or Kaijus. I've been testing it against Zodiac Kaijus and Kozmos. So far they just bend down and take it.

No majespecter? Also, chaos max.dek: Untargetable, indestructible, 4k double piercing into the 0 def little shits? Plus you can run amorphactor pain and just shut down their entire field? Sounds good to me.

This is great, I think something that can definitely enhance this content and go beyond the 5 stars you've already provided is to provide example decklists via link whether in video or description. I know it's probably easy to hop on a search engine and to search for example, the barrier statue deck that topped in Asia, but it'd also be great if we can just get it directly from your video ahah. Keep up the great work, really appreciate having a channel like this to view!

ive been playing domain monarchs for about a month now and its amazing. its not too consistent with pantheism at 1 but ive still topped locals before with it. its not the best deck but considering its price id deffinetly reccomend it especially with so much extra deck stuff i the meta now

I still play Qliphorts with demise. And you are right! Demise is a pricy card, but the price is relatively low at the moment.
Also, I just love how basic Qli's are and how they are not easilly hindered since they don't rely on the extra deck too much.
Trap cards like Lose 1 Turn have gotten cheaper and that along with things like Necrovalley could really hurt Zodiacs while Qli's are still comfortably able to do their thing and gain advantage.

Still going to be playing Qliphort. Also unaffected by the zoodiac effects when they are a lower level/rank and dimensional barrier would help Qliphort a little by negating their effect on normal summon

For the people wanting to play Domain Monarchs then also try to use Foolish Burial of Goods (Foolish Burial of Belongings) because you can use it to fuel Prime, and you can use it to get Pantheism in grave to activate it's effect search then use Edea and get it in hand to use for some draws.

Keeping monarch alive in the next format. I'm gonna play them till True Draco come out. They are probably the most budget, looking at about $50-$75 if you go all commons.

cool cards but i'm still using my same old strategy: scrap-iron scarecrow + gravekeeper's servant + burden of the mighty + reese the ice mistress and/or obnoxious celtic guardian for defense while i lay trap monsters like blast sphere, cyber jar, and firestorm prominence and using the ring of destruction + barrel behind the door combo on a great maju garzett or a blue eyes. gotta love the classics

Cimo, Ritual Beasts Steeds is Zoo's kryptonite. And the new support really helps the consistency. Not sure it can contend but i think it's worth a mention. Steeds is an incredible card against Zoodiacs and so many other decks

Here's an interesting tactic for fighting zoodiacs specifically for those synchro players out there using Crystrons, Synchrons or Tzolkin Heroes, stardust dragon and Psy-framelord Zeta. Zeta can remove Materials from monsters by its effect and Stardust Dragon negates usage of Zoodiac Barrage to SS Raptier from the deck and it negates Drident's popping effect.

I don't know if this will guarantee you victories against Zoodiacs, but it sure as hell will help.

Chaos Dragons is my favorite deck in the world and can be used in the meta, but it depends on what you will face and also it can make break hands. But over all its a fun deck to play and soon i will make a deck profile of it sometime.
