The problem that madrid has is that they have an uneven squad. After the retirement of kroos and the drop in form (age) of modric, nobody had stepped up. Even if you have 3 ferraris upfront it wont work since no once can connect with them from the midfield. Valverde Bellingham are not kroos and theyre not modric! What they need is ceballos back (they were playing good before he got injured) and then the left backs are poor, mendy cant even put a pass forward or even cross the ball into the box. So its not the attitude of the players but the lack of certain positions in their squad. Tchoumeni has been terrible and camavinga is very inconsistent due to numerous injuries.
Madrid needs a play maker in the midfield with a skillset of vitinha and a skillset like rodri. If they dont do that theyll keep suffering in big games and only win due to individual performances
