Solar ovens are hardly a new thing, but those are certainly way more beautiful than any I've seen before!

My husband built one for me years ago and was determined to use only reclaimed materials. It looked ok at the beginning but its definitely falling apart now (9 years later). I've used it so much. We eat a lot of rice, so i put a bowl of uncooked rice in every morning and it was hot and ready by the late afternoon. I made so much in that oven because our house would get really hot in the summer and our little AC unit couldn't handle it. So cooking outside helped a lot. I definitely recommend making or buying one, it's great for emergencies or just when you don't want to cook inside.

I think he should sell the plans to make this. I live in the Helene distaster area. Five months now. Propane is starting to be rationed. This would be a great way to save fuel. Cook camp fires take a lot of time and labor. Food burns quick. We need a food drier to get food preserve to store without electricity.

There are other versions without the glass, but using reflective material. It works too, but just be prepared to wait, it takes a bit longer.

Hubs has a sun oven. I believe the top is a fresnel lens, so no mirror. Made some awesome chile in the FL sun. The dryer is so cool!

We used to try making those from aluminum foil and cardboards... Turns out needs sturdier material(and less flamable) than cardboard😅
