No hate intended towards Touchdrive users No se trata de incentivar el odio hacia los que usan Touchdrive

I completely agree, transitioning from manual to touch drive is a crucial process
I started learning manual and was getting extremely bad times for a couple of weeks… But after a month or so, I gained enough experience to beat td times and I never regret that decision no matter how much of a pain it was in the starting days

As a former A8 player. When I started in 2021, I kinda had to start with TouchDrive because i felt it was so much harder to control the car manually compared to A8. But as time progressed and as I kept getting better, I now use manual drive and reveal my true potential of how good lap times I can achieve😎

I would say (new) players quitting the game has nothing or little to do with the control. It's how slow the progression is, and how many choke points are presented in the Career mode, which veterans would not realize, in addition to the fact that newer players are eternally disadvantaged in MP by how KD works.

Manual gives you the freedom to take corners faster and increase your racing lines. Yet for someone completely new(who hasn't even played A8 ever) its a useful feature to atleast know how the game works. But at somepoint when it comes to MP races. Manual is the best .

As a touchdrive player I definitely see how touchdrive is inferior to manual in terms of lap time and I do wish to drop touchdrive completely for manual one day, but for now I still need more practice and have to stick with touchdrive for MP and events

I really want to learn Manual but having to double tap break to stop nitro without drifting is too counter intuitive for me. I just end up 360ting or drifting when I don't want to loosing a lot of speed. There is also the problem that this game sometimes don't register the input even the symbol of the break/nitro lighted up red (It usually happens when you tap the button too fast and also effects the TD experience).
Also I'm finding it really hard to adapt to tilt steering and I'm not a Osu player to be able to play on tap to steer.
The only way I can see myself committing to Manual is via a controller (with I don't have and can't buy rn) or when they finally release the cross play so I can play on Windows and Manual drive with the Keyboard.

I reached a point where I'm a pretty good TD player and I can say there is a lot of improvements that Gameloft could make to TD to make it a lot better.
To begin with there are many bad racing lines on TD that really need to be improved. There are many places that all the car needs is to follow a straight line but the car follows the contour of the wide street slowing it down. And there are many places that TD doesn't give a option to go to and some are optimal.

Another thing is TD is much more welcoming to new players. Manual drive takes a long time to learn. If a new player comes and all he can do with the car is hit the wall he will not stick to the game for a very long time.
Its also a pretty chill way to play the game. I don't have to think too hard on what to do. Its especially good for daily events that you don't really want to pay too much attention on what you are doing since they are pretty easy to complete. And its nearly impossible to play on tilt while laying down or moving.

When I first started the game a while ago, I only used TD for the first few months, when i tried manual, i tried practicing it everyday on career and after a few months, not to brag or anything, I got pretty professional, so yeah and to any TD players here you can also do this and become a good Manual player but you just have to have some patience

I definitely agree. the touch drive option is not great for certain users. I've been using manual steer in asphalt 9 for ages. I tried the touch drive button, it didn't even allow me to have freedom over the car. Using touch drive mode made me feel like I was starting over asphalt 9 again. as person who has 3 years of experience, manual steer made me more confident and a better player.

Totally agree there should be a tutorial that goes over the different driving settings. I used to play the old version where you tilt your phone. Just picked the game up and it took me a moment to realize my tilting was doing nothing. It feels really stupid having the game drive for you... Honestly not sure why it's even an option at all

I was an A8 player since around 2013 and when A9 released i just tried touchdrive and was like "This sucks" so i switched to manual and had more fun

I used to be a touch drive player before, but around last year with so much practice I became a good player without touch drive.

Nice explanation!
I started A9 with tap to steer from start and still play with it

I don't think I've ever unironically used TD, even when the game released. This is likely because by that time, I had been playing Asphalt 8 on and off for 4 years

I only use TD on special events, Daily events and Career but i use manual in Mp i dont know why TD players are so toxic, they wont let faster cars go past them they just 360 at you.

I'm using manual, but TD is still useful when I play on vehicle

I just use touch drive when ever I get a location that’s glitched. I’m not the best with it but there are others that just use it to farm Series Score and I know there are a lot of drivers who master touch drive. When I began back in 2019, I used the manual controls for joycons, which is really good and I’m more familiar controlling it with. Just play with whatever method you’re familiar. But it does take time to practice new techniques to become a legend.

With touchdrive, it basically becomes a glorified drag racing game

can you make a guide on how to use MD in both A8 and A9 with tips and tricks for fast improvement? As well as how to properly use turbo mechanics? like how to get more turbo while drifting along a wall when going around a corner, and while staying straight without having to wag the back end wildly lol (or is this just a PC mechanic only?)...

Also can you post long montages of your races? its really satisfying to watch them

TD best for grinding car hunts tho, can do other works while playing it so its convenient but manual is the best control
