Always keep your safety glasses on when grinding. Don't ever chance it. I got a piece of steel in my eye about 10 years ago and actually after it was removed my vision stayed blurry for 6 months after that!

Good and informative video, although I would never recommend going into a trade just for the money. Welding especially field welding is very hard hard but rewarding work.

do I need a rig to start welding pipe? My school does smaller pipe only up to 12 ID from what I have seen. Realistically how well would that knowledge translate to larger pipe?

Union pipefitter apprenticeship teaches you to weld piping :) that’s where I learned. But I love the vids keep up the good work

I got a nice sliver of metal in my eye a couple months ago. The worst part was the eye doctor drilling it out. He numbed it but oh boy that was the most terrified I've ever been in my life lol. On the plus side I found out I have 20/20 vision... ha
