The reason labor won't have it, is because it will prove them wrong.

Put it to a referendum.
I vote Yes to Nuclear baseload.
No to renewable baseload

Nuclear is not the wrong policy. It's currently the *only* long-term policy. Those blowing hot air and suggesting we try alternatives should remember that this hot air doesn't produce enough energy. Words may sound good, but reality dictates otherwise.

These people are insane. They use the same talking points regardless of the facts. Renewables have to be replaced every 20 years. You can't get around it. They never take this into account when they talk about costs. Nuclear is not more expensive because they generally run for around 80 years before replacement. Nuclear reactors can be built at old coal-fired plants quickly and efficiently, as long as the lawfare that will abound is banned straight from the start. As long as the new reactors are built to an established design, without changes, there is no reason, other than lawfare, as to why they can't be built quickly. City based MPs such as this one will never have to worry, because reactors will be built in country areas without taking up valuable agricultural land like solar and wind farms do. These people do not want Australia to have cheap and reliable power. They want a dream.

The real question is – is labor making Australia a safe secure place for your chidren and their children

Dutton saved Australia by standing against the Voice, now he's saving us from the renewable Black-Hole.

Wrong for Australia but right for so many other countries? Keep selling that coal and gas to other countries so they too can have cheap reliable energy. The government has to go!

''Nuclear energy is the ‘wrong policy’ for Australia right now''
You, Spender, are the wrong person to comment on this subject as you are being bank-rolled by a renewables investor. Go away!

Georgia Power completed 2 new reactors in the last 2 years. This gives the state of Georgia 6 total reactors that provides 6, 000 megawatts of electricity. Thank goodness our future energy production is bolstered by nuclear.

Nuclear is serious base load power unfortunately Australia is broke. We cannot afford nuclear power.

The cost and time to build a reactor would be prohibitively expensive.

7 nuclear reactors are completely insane.

1 reactor would be insanely expensive let alone 7 😂

Lol omg these guys have no idea.

This anti nuclear speaker shows she has little or no understanding of the science, cost or the safety records of nuclear power plants. Thank you Mr Dutton for having balls to break our energy deadlock.

comparing intermittent diffuse power sources with reliable baseload technology that will provide electricity securely is an argument based on ideology, not on engineering and long term sustainability. Ms Spender should get some expert analysis rather than drink the Koolaid
