Love how Erina’s Mom is one of the few people to make her Dad lose his cool.

Two things to note here:
1) This is almost exactly as Erina and Soma.
2) Finally people know why he wanted to make perfect dishes only. Sure, he was ruthless to both his daughter and the cuisine world but at least he had good intentions.

Edit:  On the 1) I meant about how the guys were trying to impress their respective girls with their cooking and their girls saying they were disgusting.

That is why I really like Erinas dad as a character and villain. He became evil because two of the people he held dear were hurt by the gourmet world so he decided to fight back. What a caring individual he is

And that is why Soma is perfect for Erina and her family. He is the positive side to the bleak outlook they had in cooking. Soma takes a more optimistic approach to most things.

Man I really thought these characters were like bad guys but food wars has a way of turning the “bad guys” into good, like the former elite 10 and noir. This is why I love this show so much

At the beginning I thought Azami married Erina’s mom only to be a Nakiri and fulfill his plan, I’m glad they actually loved each other in their way, they are one of my favorite couples in food wars

This does explain Azami's actions in the last season a bit more. Just how he wanted perfection in Totsuki. How his wife shaped him into the father he was towards Erina. It makes more sense now
