These pictures of Kaiser Wilhelm II taking salute of his troops marching through his capital city of Berlin with pomp and circumstance are speaking volumes. Some years after that he will be sitting in his exile castle of House Doorn in the Netherlands, a fully disempowered monarch beyond all former glory and power having left behind about 10 Million dead on the battle fields of Europe. Should the Emperor have shown more superior wisdom instead of military guts, steely determination and stiff resolve of paying the Serbians back for the bloody deed perpetrated on the Erzherzog Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie during their visit in Sarajewo by anarchists and terrorists of the batch of Gavrilo Princip and Nedjelko Cabrinovic. Prussia's Glory gone forever ! Dump ! Break off with all the parades the Kaiser loved that much ! Hardly 20 years later will come a new untitled man, a fanatic nobody, to march rank and file in even longer columns, in the same city of Berlin. And just about 20 years further on 2 armies will march in long, long columns through 2 Berlins. What a progress out of so much - blind - effort! May the Almighty behold that next time we shall go to war we will not get 3 Berlins out of such a clusterfuck or fustercluck, also called shemozzel, in German Schlamassel. Then, presumably, without any further military parades ordered by anyone and visited by anybody. That time we will not be able to blame a Kaiser. Then, it will be neither a monarchy nor a dictatorship, then it will have been a full-blown democracy. Imagine !
