How a single sentence in the Supreme Court's immunity ruling could upend Trump New York convictions

Legal experts generally agree that the scandalized Supreme Court's gift ruling to Donald Trump on presidential immunity is not likely to help him escape his New York criminal conviction on the basis of trying to claim everything he did was an "official act," but a less noticed line in the ruling could give Trump's lawyers another opportunity. MSNBC legal correspondent Lisa Rubin discusses with Alex Wagner.

Yeah, two tier justice system. If you've got the money, you can get away with anything.

Paying some one off isn't part of official duties and he wasn't even in office when he did it. So how can it be official business?

Meanwhile, the Heritage Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non profit , therefore in violation of federal tax code for involvement in the political process. Report them to the IRS

Obscene... So now facts don't apply to someone, depending on their position, regardless of criminality? OBSCENE!

Allowing rogue justices to upend the rule of law is unacceptable in our America. Impeach them

Main stream media needs to get the Epstein files into the headlines and keep them there.

it`s unconstitutional to submit evidence of guilt in a court case because it will make him look guilty. Make it make sense.

The US legal system gets more laughable day by day. Retroactive laws are a US specialty.

Thank you, Merick Garland for not bringing charges right away. This could all have been settled by now.

Expand the court or impeach Thomas and Alito. This is ridiculous.

I'm a foreigner to the U.S., but are one from a developed 'democratic' country. As probably with most people in every other of our favourite national pass times, is to complain about the wretched state of our political system and the wretched state or our legal system.

However, since the U.S. slipped into the alternative reality of the Magaverse, what I once saw as outrageous abuses of authority by our own politicians and judges, now seem like mere trivialities compared to what goes on in the U.S..

At least in South Africa they have a constitutional court which is above the Supreme Court and the whole country is not held to ransom by 6 unethical justices.

That might have been true had this occurred in federal court but it wasn't. Also this was still a private citizen.

The privileged conversations were not the only evidence. The jury's work should get some respect from the Supreme Court
