The kid who got arrested for the fight and his dad was there - no way - the other kid should be arrested too. For picking on a kid with autism! I have autism and it's hell at times.

Devin's arrest was not justified at all. The Dad has arrived and the school decided to escalate the situation by convincing the police to arrest a 9 year old autistic boy for something he didn't even mean to do and the reason why it happened at all was because the teacher got too close during a fight that happened thanks to bullying.

Now the parents are gonna have to fight to get those charges expunged thanks to biased police officers that had nothing better to do and a school that was obviously a mistake to go to. I seriously hope that as of this comment being written on September 4th of 2023, Devin's record got clean again and that his parents took him out of that stupid and dangerous school so that this doesn't happen again.

I swear the Public Education System has never been good with Special Needs Children for as long as I can remember from experience. The fact that the school decided to get the police involved at all should tell people to not send their children to that specific school in fear of the same thing happening to their children.

The kid who bullied the kid with autism needs to be punished I'm autistic and I'm sick of people protecting bullies and punishing those being bullied the police and school were wrong to arrest him they should have arrested the bully not the victim

The first case is typical again. The victim is turned into the perpetrator, while the perpetrator is still allowed to walk around freely and feel validated. Nothing has changed since my own school days, because it was no different in the 1980s and 1990s and I was often the one who got the beating during my elementary school years. The culmination was a knocked out front tooth, the perpetrator received no punishment, while I was portrayed as an exaggerator by the school. After all these adventures, I think it's a miracle that I ended up becoming a teacher. Today, when I witness bullying, the bully has nothing to laugh about.

You know my parents did something similar to me when I was younger, but instead of arresting me they just talked to me. Scared me enough to stop me in my tracks! My parents were desperate at that point, and didn’t know what to do with me anymore. 5:27

I have autism and my special ed teacher had used abuse of power on me as a scared straight approach. One time I had a meltdown and the teacher threatened to call the resource officer as a really dumb way to get me to calm down. The way the teacher treated me like I was less human eventually made me thought about taking my own life cuz I believed that I was really a bad person for this to happen. Luckily I moved to a different school and I was treated better which also my mental health did. Now I look back and realize that that evil teacher was an ableist.😭😭
