Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James threw down a left-handed dunk over Mavs big man Dereck Lively II last Tuesday. The slam went viral online and became a hot basketball topic in podcasts and talk shows.
However, ESPN's Stephen A. Smith wonders why LeBron's faithful and other basketball fans are making a big fuss about it when everyone is supposed to be talking about the Lakers winning a championship.
Stephen A. said that in the last couple of years, LeBron's fans have celebrated every individual record he's accomplished. He argued that those are not the things that a player should be playing for.
"You just notice every little thing…'Oh, he passed the scoring record', 'Oh, look at him get the most three-pointers,' 'Oh, Look at him have the most 30-point games'. Stand up and applaud LeBron James. I thought we were supposed to be interested in championships. Lakers are 20-16, 6th seed in the Western Conference.”
