I spent this much on Destiny 2

I’ve spent a lot of money on destiny. I’ve purchased both games, all 25 paid expansions, dozens of collectible pins, figures, shirts, hoodies, hats, scarfs, mugs, weapon replicas, lore books, art books, cook books, posters, plushies, funko pops, more pins, this helmet, and microtransactions. All of this together is somewhere around $6000 over the last 9 years. I'm broke now.

I added it up once for myself and I think I’m sitting at somewhere between $8, 000-$10, 000 now I’ve bought both games at least 4 times I know I’ve bought at 4 of the DLC’s at least 3 times and every collectible possible I try to own….not to mention when I had my son we named him after Cayde-6 and his sons name so at this point I could add another $288, 000 to cover that lore unlock until he’s 18 haha

I bought d1 and d2, the expansions 1 collectors edition and like 4 or 5 little bits and bobs like a strange coin or a lore book to get an emblem in game, I've also donated to multiple charities £100s to get more emblems in game😅

Just "keeping up with the game" and ZERO micro transactions or merch purchases (and not counting the cost of having to upgrade consoles at Rise of Iron) I had sunk about $430 into this franchise before Shadowkeep came out. I looked back over what I had after all that money spent and frankly the amount of "content" Bungie had produced would not have even surpassed Final Fantasy IX disc 1 of 4. And this was when Bungie 1) switched from permanent expansion to "rental seasons" and sunsetting old content, actively REDUCING the amount of content available while increasing the overall price of entry and 2) made the entire first year (which cost me $100+) completely free to play.

I actually quit at that point. Didn't touch the game for four solid years. Then I saw the previous expansions and Gjally quest on sale for about $2-3 each so I picked them up just for gits and shiggles because I do miss playing the game I just think Bungie's decision makers are all feckless bastards who should resign in shame and there's no way in Hell I'm spending full Triple-A release MSRP for a freaking expansion. So Lightfall and Final Shape will have to wait, possibly indefinitely.
