Whenever I am in a light canoe or kayak with only myself aboard it benefits me too add jugs of water farther forward in the hull. That balances my own weight aft & gives more steadiness to the hull. After boating you can empty your water jugs before you go home except the ones I keep with me labeled " Drinking" the others are labelled " Tap" if at all.

LOVE IT! Did your tilt up leeboard loosen up or did it stay pretty much in place after sailing it for a while?
