Salicylic acid serum mistakes | Dermatologist suggests

▪️Salicylic acid is a beta hydroxy acid which can be beneficial in oily skin and acne prone skin.

▪️Salicylic acid is oil loving and gets concentrated in the oil forming glands on the skin.

▪️It reduces stickiness of the cells, reduces dead skin build up and easy extrusion of sebum.

▪️It is helpful in reducing blackheads , whiteheads and active acne

Mistakes to avoid
❌Apply on damp skin
✅Always use salicylic acid serums on dry skin as the chances on irritation increases if uses on damp skin

❌Skipping moistursier
✅Salicylic acid can cause dryness. Using a light weight gel based moisturiser is important to reduce dryness and irritation.

❌Skipping sunscreen
✅whenever you are using acid which cause exfoliation like salicylic acid, glycolic acid , lactic acid etc , using a sunscreens be aimed even more important than usual. Sunscreen will reduce the chances of dark spots .

❌Use with other irritating ingredients
✅Avoid irritating actives while using salicylic acid such as retinol, glycolic acid, lactic acid, vitamin C . You can use niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, kojic acid or arbutin.
