It’s a damn crime Christopher Eccleston only got one season! He was so great!

Matt Smith got some damned good lines but one of his best is one of the simplest.

“Hello. I’m the doctor. Basically… run.”

Growing up with David Tennant as doctor was such a good time to be alive

I think Capaldi gave a wonderful mix of anger, kindness, courage, dry humor, self-sacrifice, and a little bit of romance with Clara (even though he wasn't a hug person LOL) At the end of his cycle, the character was mature, powerful, still with doubts but strong enough to fight for what he considered right. His solo episode is one of the most powerful in the whole series and a challenge to the actor himself. He should be in the top 3 list.

The BBC literally thought the show would fail after Tennant left. That's how damn good he was. He was a generational treasure.

Eccleston's "And you know what? So was I" still gives me goosebumps to this day!!!

The ninth doctor is the most impactful to me because he was my first doctor and helped get the show back on everybody's radar but ten is the BEST in the terms of literally everything else

I grew up with this show. My dad sat down my brother and I for Christopher Eccleston’s first episode telling us this was a show from his childhood, and we’ve never looked back.

As much as I loved Eccleston, David Tennant was my Doctor. His wild enthusiasm, his perfect emoting, just about everything from his era (although looking back there was way too much romantic emphasis between him and Rose) was everything to me. Saturday nights for 13 weeks a year gave me an escape from school I needed, and for that I’ll never be grateful enough.

So excited to see Tennant return as the 14th Doctor with my favourite companion, Donna Noble!!

Every Whovian have their Doctor, that's so true. Mine is Eleventh. Matt Smith did a brilliant job at such young age - I remember people not believing he'd be able to carry the show after Tennant - but he shone.
It made me really happy to see Matt's Eleven in third place. It's deserved.

Matt Smith will forever be my Doctor. The fairy tale behind his time, the comedy, the companions. Chefs kiss.

I feel like Capaldi doesn't get enough love. Yes, he had a bit of a rough start in his first season, but quickly improved himself for the latter 2, and in my opinion delivered the best season of the new series in season 9. Going from the youngest actor to one of the oldest, showing the age and wisdom and weariness of the millenia-old alien who's probably lived too long. And the 2-part zygon episode in season 9 alone being my absolute favorite story, and being the one to close River Song's story in the best way! He deserves his high spot

Tom Baker was the first Doctor I saw. My local PBS station used to play reruns. By
It I absolutely am in love with the 10th.

It must have been hard as hell ranking the top four...were I asked to make a list like this, I'd be up all night trying to figure Tom Baker vs. Tennant

Thing about the Doctor is when he/she regenerates the new personality is the opposite of the last personality. That's reason why i like Colin Baker's Doctor.

David Tennant and then Matt Smith for me. I’m so excited to see Tennant back as the Doctor for the 60th anniversary! Looking forward to it!

While I am a sucker for David Tennant, Tom Baker's Fourth Doctor will always be the quintessential Doctor to me. Peter Capaldi's Twelfth Doctor though will always stick out as such a missed opportunity, because I loved his take on The Doctor but the writing for those Series just left a lot to be desired.

Capaldi is my favorite Doctor with David Tennant being almost a tie. I just love both of them so much!

It’s always Tennant and Baker for the number 1 and 2 spot. After that, fans mostly just mix and match their own lists based on taste.

Fell in love with Eleven with one phrase: "hello, I'm the doctor. Basically, run"
