How to remove the automatically applied Rec 709 Correction LUT in Final Cut Pro when using Log Footage (e.g. Sony S-Log 3, V-Log, C-Log, D-Log).

In this video we cover the following method...

1.If you have filmed in a LOG profile in camera, you may sometimes find that Final Cut will automatically apply a LUT to your footage.

2.To remove this LUT and return your footage to LOG, left click to select the clip you wish to change and navigate to the inspector window.

3. Click the circular 'I' icon to bring up the clip information and in this window and here you will need to change the Metadata view from Basic to Extended.

4. This will bring up the Camera LUT option, and in order to return to Log footage you will need to change the option to 'None'.

5. In this example, our Sony S-Log 3 footage has now returned to the original Log Profile with the Rec 709 Correction Style LUT removed.

6. If you have multiple clips that you wish to change, make sure to select all the clips you wish to change on the timeline, then navigate to the inspector window again.

7. Here changing the Camera LUT to 'None' will batch change all of your footage and bring it into the original Log Profile.

Is there anyway to have it not automatically add a lut for every new clip added?

I'm experiencing this, but with RED footage. And in that menu is says that there is no LUT, but there is something going on. In Premiere you can take off the auto LUT but can't figure out how to do it in final cut
