Miserable weather conditions for a miserable occasion. Last international flight from Blackpool Airport took place today 9th October 2014 due to the closure of the main terminal building by its owners Balfour Beatty. The airport remains open for GA and flights to the Isle of Man.

Nice one :) This was the last International flight. Another Jet2 took off later on on a Positioning flight :)

Aviation is a growing industry ? Shouldn't have happened. So sad for the Fylde, Lancashire and Cumbria.
Many happy memories of air shows from the 70s, and more recent a holidays, a convenient regional airport without the hassle of a large airport.
Will be sadly missed.

They should totally open up Carlisle airport for bigger flights cos at the moment hows a 6000ft airport sitting in the middle of nowhere used by small jets gonna help the community!
