Longest I kept my eyes open was around 5-10 mins in 6th grade 4 years ago, it didn't really hurt but my eyes were DEFINITELY dry haha

It's all about the environment. In the right conditions It's easy to keep your eyes open. My record is around 30 minutes, and I really only stopped because I was bored.

There's this game here in the Philippines were people comepete (mostly actors/actresses) into an intense staring contest for a cash prize. Now an actor in the Philippines holds the Guinness World Record for not blinking.

In class one day my friend challenged himself to go as long as possible without blinking. He got to 22 minutes. He was looking down and he was crying but he looked down so the tears would just fall out of just eyes instead of needing to blink them away. He only stopped because someone pushed him and knocked him off balance. He probably could have gone a while longer.
