Hey Bob, try selecting them from top to bottom in the outliner, then rename. Better yet, bottom up! Drag selecting in the view port is causing you to select them out of order.

Amazing tutorial, it didn't help me at all but I feel that more guides should be made by people who are clearly a little insane, adds spice to the industry and kept me engaged.

on the workspace: at the very top right switch to 'Modeling - Standard' to actually see it
