Folk (soldier) version of "Veteran's Song" by Ivan Klyushnikov. It tells about the love of soldiers for the legendary Russian commander Aleksandr Suvorov, his habits and funny character traits, which together made up an unforgettable image of one of the greatest heroes of Russian history, and also emphasizes his closeness to ordinary soldiers and true love for Russia. The song is performed by the "Valaam" choir.
Portrayed by Generalissimo Aleksandr Suvorov, Count of Rymnik and Prince of Italia (1730—1800), the most brilliant strategist and military leader in Russia's history. The portrait in a simple white shirt was chosen to show the soul of the song — a simple Suvorov who never put himself higher than his ordinary soldiers.
