Christmas in Winter Wonderland | #40 Life in Norway

We're in the darkest times of winter here in the mountains of Norway. And while the temperatures are getting more and more freezing we are preparing for our first Christmas market. I believe there isn't a better place to be during Christmas than Røros and it was quite an experience for us to be "out in the world" with our products for the first time. There were years in Montana that we would hit -15 to -25 Fahrenheit (-26 to -31 c) along with the windchill as the wind is always blowing in the plains areas. We would also get arctic cold blasts that come down from Canada. One of the reasons I left Montana when I joined the US Navy (to travel to warmer climates!) While I don't miss the cold, I do miss the snow and have finally come to time in my life where, if I could have a cabin with a wood stove and plenty of firewood and no reason to leave, I would go back. The night time lit of winter views of the village remind me of Thomas Kinkade paintings!

We also have -30 Celcius here in Quebec (Canada) ;-) In our outdoor Christmas markets (which span several days) our artisans use portable heaters to survive the cold. Even though your beautiful kiosk/stand was on the other side of the Atlantic for me - and it was therefore impossible for me to visit it 😢 - I still bought a mug and two tealight holders from you in the past via your website.
