The Double Big Mac is Back (but not the McAfrika)

The double Big Mac slop burger is now available! But will McDonald’s ever have the guts to bring back the McAfrica? Also, McDonald’s usually does Country inspired burgers. Do we think that McDonald’s creatives thought Africa is a country?

I was in a McDonald's in Germany in august 2023 and they had the double big mac. It's pretty funny how sometimes you can only get their most American menu item, outside of the US.

I was in Austria when they brought back the McAfrika, and also launched the Big Texas Bagel. Which, while not as morally dubious as the McAfrika, still felt like a monumental misunderstanding of a different culture

I recently watched a video about the whole "McAfrika" thing. Turns out, not everybody was mad at McDonald's. Even some African NGOs appreciated them doing it. And McDonald's apology was accepted by the formerly offended people pretty quickly. So it wasn't actually too much of a big deal.

(Also I had the McAfrika back then and it tasted amazing)
