As the 180lb owner of a razor pocketmod that went from 24v to 36v with the stock motor, and cooked it so hard the brush springs lost their spring... lol.

Hey Rich, I enjoy your videos! I just bought an SX500 for my 8yo son but one of the batteries is no good and the bike can't go with anyone on it for more than 30 seconds. I'm currently debating buying a set of SLA batteries for it vs a single 36v lithium and wanted to know if you saw any improvement with JUST replacing the battery in terms of top speed or torque? In your other video, you really don't touch on any improvements from the battery alone since you also changed the motor. Also, in this video - was the bike using SLA or a lithium battery to begin with?

I love the video, great job. Had a question, how long can you ride on this battery and how long does it take to charge?

I put a 60v 12ah lithium-ion on 48v controller 1000w. Scary fun

You mention overheating. I’m wondering if I should order the 14AH or 20AH lithium. 20AH longer ride time but might overheat stock motor and control. I ordered the sink you recommended. Occasionally I ride it around the property 195lbs and my 7yo about 50lbs.

I did the conversion to a 48 volt lith battery like you did but kept the 36 volt controller. the stock motor on my mx650 started to smoke when my son was using it on the grass and up and down hills for only 5 minutes or so. Has any else experienced this?

Could it also be possible to prevent overheating by putting in a larger motor?

Can replace only the Batteries with a 48V 20Ah battery and keep everything else stock for now until I am ready to do the other upgrades like the motor, module, and throttle?

Was this a hard uprgade to do? I want to do this but i really want to change the throttle to a keystart, full twist throttle. Should I buy a throttle and the 48v lithium? and is that all able to wire to the stock controller? Or should I buy the Fast scooters overvolt kit and charger and then swap a lithium for the 4 batteries instead. But then how will I charge the battery? haha lots of questions i know. Thanks!

Is there a place that would do this upgrade if we don’t feel comfortable?

My son is 55 lbs and rides off-road on some pretty steep hills. Do you think this would be safe?

What battery charger did you use? The stock 36v charger or did you have to buy a 48v charger?

Hey I was wondering did you have to change the battery wiring and did you have to sotter the wires

Hi rich. I just came up with a mx500. I want to upgrade the battery to a lithium ion. Which one would you recommend? I don’t plan on doing off road stuff.
